Andretti Global announced Sept. 30 that Seb Murray will join the team for the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone season, driving the No. 27 Dream Racing Dubai car in his second season in the INDYCAR development series.

Murray, 18, from Scotland, is the first driver to be confirmed for the Andretti lineup in 2026.

“I am thrilled and excited to join Andretti Global for my second year in INDY NXT,” Murray said. “I really enjoyed my debut season with Andretti Cape INDY NXT and look forward to building on the knowledge and experience I have gained during the 2025 season.

“Andretti Global is a proven race-winning team, and I look forward to continuing my development with them in 2026.”

Murray earned two top-10 finishes as an INDY NXT rookie with Andretti Cape INDY NXT in 2025, with a best result of fifth at the second race of the doubleheader at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (photo, above). He also finished sixth at Detroit.

Before moving to INDY NXT, Murray competed in the 2024 F4 UAE season, scoring a top-five finish. He also raced in the GB3 Championship a month later, making 24 starts with a best finish of seventh.

“Seb made huge strides in his rookie season with Andretti Cape INDY NXT, highlighted by his results at Detroit and Laguna Seca,” Andretti Global Team Principal Rob Edwards said. “He had limited open-wheel experience before last season but impressed us all with his approach and maturity, both inside and outside the car.

“We are excited to have Seb continue to grow with us as part of the Andretti INDY NXT team and look forward to that first taste of champagne together.”

Murray will debut with the Andretti INDY NXT team Monday, Oct. 27 at the annual Chris Griffis Memorial Test on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. The rest of the Andretti INDY NXT driver lineup will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
