Tale of the Tape: A Look at INDY NXT Title Contenders

Here’s a statistical look at the three main contenders for the INDY NXT by Firestone championship this weekend at the Grand Prix of Monterey doubleheader at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Nikita Johnson of Cape Motorsports Powered by ECR leads Enzo Fittipaldi of HMD Motorsports by three points. HMD’s Tymek Kucharczyk (photo, top) is third, 29 points behind Johnson. All three drivers are rookies in the INDYCAR development series.
Race 1 (35 laps) starts at 6:30 p.m. ET Saturday, followed by Race 2 (30 laps) at 12:30 p.m. ET Sunday. FS2 will televise Race 1, with Race 2 on FS1. FOX One and INDYCAR Radio powered by OnlyBulls also will broadcast both races live.
